Link to Student Portfolios « Result #2 on Sept 28, 2008, 10:53am »
OK,
I'm gonna post the links to everybody's portfolios here so that anybody doing the course afterwards can go and see what others have written.
Plagerism potential, Nooo! I'm shocked you would even think along those lines. Constructive, supporitive knowledge sharing. Think Horace (Ref to come).
Looks so cool. Basically, it works like hyperlinks. Just as on a page you click a link and this takes you to a new place, these are hyperlinks for objects in Real Life!
Huh? It connects with wearable computing and (GPS) mobile phone technology to give you information about particular places. The example used in this CNN article talks about hyperlinked gravestones. Other uses suggested where heart transplant overlays.

The Japanese over at DOCOMO are doing some interesting research into the interface between technology and usability - the ultimate in erognomics I suppose.
They are looking into facial movements forcing actions - eg 2 hard eye movements to the right to fastforward a song - as well as wearable computing!
In the latter, we get a glimpse at the Star Trek inverted ^-type communicators that were worn on the left hand side of the torso sort of technology .
Are they ready to go? Not yet. In the words of Scottie - it'll take me months to fix Capt'n (well probably longer). We only hope they hear John Luc's response, "Make it so!"
